Power supply is a major consideration when thinking about installing EV chargers and as organisations consider what to do when they are building a new facility (warehouse or office) then one of most sustainable power options that a number of them are choosing is solar power panels - there is plenty of space on the roof of a new warehouse so why not install PV solar panels. This source of power is a great option to ensure a sustainable source of power on site. Some organisations are also considering Wind Turbines - this is an interesting option if you have space on site and can get the necessary planning permission to install a Wind Turbine to supply power. EV chargers with solar integration require dedicated supply terminals for the solar feed which allows for charging with 100% solar power. The size of your solar panel setup will determine the power supply of your EV charger, a small installation my not be sufficient to deliver the power you need for a 7kW charger or more likely a number of charger. Obviously solar power can be supplemented with grid power providing you with the necessary power for you 7kW charger(s). Solar power can be fed back to the grid when the chargers are not in use. A professional EV charger installer will be able to advise you how many PV solar panels you require to power your EV chargers and ensure that the right electrical connections are made.
